My husband suffers with Asthma. We had only been attending LFC two weeks when Mike had a severe Asthma attack. We called 911 – the ambulance came – the paramedics worked on Mike – he was taken to the emergency room for treatment – he had gone more than 30 minutes without breathing. Pastor Pete and LeeAnn came to the emergency room and waited with us as the doctors worked on Mike. The report form the doctor was not good. He may be in a coma – he could have brain damage because of the length of time with no oxygen. We were told things were bad – we just did not know how bad they were. Pastor Burt anointed Mike with oil and prayed for his healing. He also prayed that Mike would have no desire for cigarettes after this.

The next morning in ICU Mike woke up. The nurse ran out of his room to get others to show them what had happened. The doctors were amazed – Mike had no coma, no brain damage; he has been completely healed from this attack of the enemy. He was released from the hospital the next morning. Doctors and nurses often stop where Mike works – amazed at his recovery and ask him if he is all right. One more thing – Mike did not know about the prayer to stop smoking – he has not smoked since the attack.

Do you know someone who has been suffering from depression, disease or a bad habit they just can’t seem to get rid of? A year ago Pastor Pete and the ministry team or LFC held a healing service at our ministry. One of our members was delivered from severe depression when the power of God came upon him and started the healing process. He had suffered with depression from childhood. Today he is walking in a joy which he has no memory of ever having before. To God be the honor, the glory and the praise.

My daughter Gabriela had disseminated herpes simplex virus type 1. The doctors at the Mayo Clinic told us that she would die or that if she lived she would be severely mentally and physically handicapped. My family stood in faith with our brothers and sisters at Lighthouse Family Church for Gabriela’s healing. One of the scriptures we prayed and stood on was:

• Mark 11:23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. (NKJ)

Two weeks later Gabriela was discharged from the hospital completely healed. Today she is a beautiful, healthy, happy, 4 year old enjoying life.

• Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJ)

God is the healer and it pleases Him when we stand together as brothers and sisters in Christ believing in Him and His Word.

In December 1967, my F-4 aircraft was shot down by enemy anti-aircraft fire in the Vietnam conflict. I am grateful to a very courageous helicopter rescue crew who extracted me from the jungle. I wasn’t a Christian at the time, and you would have thought that this would have caused me to change my ways. It’s nothing short of a miracle today that my children are serving the Lord – one as a missionary. During these last 50 years my wife has been faithful to her Lord.

In May of 2004, I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. The remedy was to remove my esophagus and part of if not all of my stomach. I sought a second opinion from the Mayo Clinic. They attempted to put a feeding tube in me, but this showed the presence of more cancer. There was nothing they could do but sew me up and send me home. Of course, they offered me chemotherapy. I asked the oncologist what he would do in my situation, he said he would forget the chemo – and just go home to family and friends and spend the time he had left. I was classified NC – not curable.

Within 10 minutes of checking out of my hospital room a miracle occurred. A local pastor phoned my room and asked if he could visit me for a few minutes. Since he was already in the hospital I invited him to my room. Pastor “Pete” Burt from Lighthouse Church read from the Word of God and quietly prayed for God to open my eyes and heal me from the cancer. It was as if scales fell from my spiritual eyes, and I could see for the first time! That day I accepted Jesus as my Savior. It was a blessed moment. I cannot adequately describe it to you. I have been rejoicing daily ever since in the knowledge of sins forgiven and of belonging to my Savior – my life is now completely committed to His care.

In case you are wondering – I am slowly regaining my strength – my general condition has definitely improved. Lymph nodes that earlier were enlarged have now decreased to almost normal and that is a cause for rejoicing! I am gaining weight and feeling much better. I thank God continually for His direct intervention on my behalf.
